Desert God : Earrings
Scarabs, humble desert gods who are unaware of their status as such, are one of my favorite symbols in art, jewelry, and mythology as a whole. I love the way their anatomy has been contained in all sorts of adornments and accessories - the oval scarab cabochons, as seen here, are an age-old way of incorporating scarabs into jewelry.
The rich red is too good to past up, and the oxidized silver tone brass stampings and vintage deadstock earring studs beautifully hold the scarabs' red hue. Set by yours truly, with jewelry grade super adhesive.
Lightweight. Due to the studs' vintage nature, I can't attest to their hypoallergenic quality. They do not bother my own sensitive ears, however.
Thanks for looking ❤
